Vision
To support NCG acting as the hub of excellence in teaching and research in Geodesy (core and applied) at the national and international level by way of preparing well-trained human resources, quality publications in reputed journals and through collaborative research with institutes of repute to contribute in the geodetic infrastructure development of the country
Objectives
To promote geodesy education, in close coordination with NCG, with the following objectives (5Cs):
Capacity building: Learning, Educating, and training in core Geodesy as well as thrust areas.
Collaboration: Initiating R&D activities and establishing geodetic infrastructure in ROI
Communication: Raising awareness (outreach) and motivating/supporting UG/PG students
Contribution: Publishing qualitative findings in reputed journals/international/national events
Competence: Emerging as a center of excellence for providing skilled technical manpower
Mandate
Target to achieve >50 skilled manpower by providing state-of-the-art education and training in Geodesy.
Take up academic R&D activities.
Organize regular capacity building activities: short term courses (typically 7-15 days) on specialized topics/ awareness programmes
Develop state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, and literature resources, SW, accessible to all researchers.
Facilitate close Industry-academia collaboration in Geodesy
