On February 28, 2024, the School of Management Studies at Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, Prayagraj hosted a workshop aimed at disseminating the findings of an ICSSR-funded short-term empirical research project on the Atal Pension Yojana (APY). The event provided a platform for scholars, researchers, and stakeholders to delve into the intricacies of the pension scheme and its implications. The workshop commenced with the ceremonial lamp lighting by the Head of Department, SMS MNNIT Allahabad, Prof. Tanuj Nandan, alongside esteemed guests, marking the auspicious beginning of the day's proceedings. Subsequently, the project directors, Prof. Tanuj Nandan, Dr. Ravindra Tripathi, Dr. Shailendra Kumar, and Dr. Utkarsh Goel, were introduced, underscoring their pivotal roles in spearheading the research initiative. A noteworthy feature of the workshop was the virtual keynote address delivered by Ms. Priyanka Gupta, Deputy General Manager (DGM) of the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA). Ms. Gupta elucidated on the guaranteed benefits offered by the central government through the pension scheme, shedding light on various initiatives undertaken by the PFRDA. Emphasizing accessibility, she highlighted the E-APY mobile application, available in 22 languages, facilitating broader outreach and inclusivity. The event also witnessed esteemed dignitaries, including the Chief Guest, Prof. Badri Narayan Tiwari, Director of GBPSSI, who shared profound insights on human development and social schemes. Additionally, Prof. A.K. Sharan, Finance Officer of the University of Allahabad, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor, delivering an enriching address to the participants.
