Regional Center for Geodesy (RCG) was inaugurated by Prof. Rama Shanker Verma, Hon'ble Director of the institute on Wednesday, 14th Feb 2024, on the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami. Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt of India has established Regional Center for Geodesy (RCG), one of the six centers in the country, in 2022-23 as a spoke center under hub and spoke model with hub at National Center for Geodesy (NCG) at IIT Kanpur. RCG will work in tandem with NCG for promoting Geodesy education in the country apart from collaborative R&D work. The RCG facility will operate from Computer Center of the institute and will be coordinated by Dr. Ramji Dwivedi, Associate Professor, GIS Cell and Prof. Mayank Pandey, Professor CSED. During the inauguration ceremony, Prof. Manoj Madhav Gore, Dean FW, Prof. A. K. Singh, Dean R&C, Prof. Vinay Srivastava, Chairperson, GIS Cell, GIS Cell PhD students and staff were present. GIS Cell PhD students briefed the dignitaries about the ongoing development in the area of Geodesy and Lightening detection system.
