A SERB sponsored two day workshop on “Computer Aided Drug Designing” organized by the Department of Biotechnology, MNNIT Allahabad, Prayagraj was inaugurated on September 10, 2022. Director of the Institute Professor R.S. Verma was Chief Guest of the inaugural ceremony. Dr. Sanjeeb Kumar Sahoo from Institute of Life Sciences Bhubaneswar, who is famous for his pioneer research in the area of cancer nanomedicine, was present as Guest of Honor in the ceremony. While addressing the inaugural session, Director of the Institute, Professor R.S. Verma emphasized on adopting inter-disciplinary approach towards research activities. Inaugural speaker of the program, Dr. Sanjeeb Kumar Sahoo, discussed in detail about the recently performed research work in the field of cancer stem cells. Dr Sahoo explained that how the medicines developed by utilizing phytochemicals can be easily delivered to affected tissues with the help of nanotechnology. This whole process may reduce the risk of side effects caused by the conventional drug therapies. About 50 scientists and students from different parts of the country participated in the workshop.
