As a noteworthy initiative of alumni connect, the batch of 1996 (BE) contributed Rs. 25 Lakhs towards construction of an air conditioned cafeteria. The foundation laying ceremony was solemnised on 17th June, 2021. Prof. Rajeev Tripathi, Director of the Institute laid the foundation stone in the presence of Dean RGIA, Prof. Geetika, Dean P&D Prof. M. M. Gore, Registrar Dr. Sarvesh K. Tiwari, Vice President Alumni Association Prof. Mukul Shukla, Sup. Engineering CPWD Mr. Ravindra Yadav and other official of the Institute and CPWD. The whole ceremony was live telecast for wider participation. Due to COVID-19 Protocol, large number of crowd could not be allowed, to be physically present. The most memorable feature was that a large number of 1996 batch alumni from all over the world participated online in spite of odd hours for them. The spirit to give back to the alma mater was felt by everyone. The cafeteria is likely to be completed in three months time.
