A webinar on “Harnessing education, research and skill development for an Atma Nirbhar Bharat” was organized by Ministry of Education, Govt. of India on March 3, 2021. The webinar was inaugurated by Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. In his address, hon’ble Prime Minister focused on transformative changes being implemented through National Education Policy (NEP-2021) and described important issues of research, critical thinking and skill development to make India Atma Nirbhar Bharat. Shri Narendra Modi Ji highlighted the new accomplishments of government where new startups, apprenticeships, establishment of Atal innovative centers in Institute of National importance have been developed. In addition, he emphasized on the need for exploring the blue economy and highlighted the contribution made by biotechnology sector and pharma industry in combating pandemic situation arisen by COVID-19. He also mentioned that it has been government’s endeavor to encourage research and move forward towards making country Atma Nirbhar and promote Make in India.
